Bob is one of the world’s leading authorities on engaging, recognizing and retaining employees. He is president of Nelson Motivation Inc. and has worked with 80 percent of the Fortune 500 companies to help improve strategies, systems and programs for better motivating employees. He previously worked closely with Dr. Ken Blanchard as chief of staff and as a personal coach for Dr. Marshall Goldsmith. Dr. Nelson has sold over 4 million books on management and employee motivation, including 1501 Ways to Reward Employees, The 1001 Rewards and Recognition Fieldbook, 1001 Ways to Energize Employees, and the just released Recognizing & Engaging Employees For Dummies. He has appeared on CBS, 60 Minutes, CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, PBS, and NPR; and is a frequent expert resource for The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, BusinessWeek, Fortune and Inc. Kenneth Wm. Smith, P.E., P.L.S. represents a third generation of leadership of the firm bearing his grandfather’s name, T. Baker Smith, LLC (TBS). A Louisiana Tech University graduate, he is a Louisiana-licensed professional civil engineer, environmental engineer, and land surveyor. Additionally, he holds professional civil engineering licenses in eight other states. Affiliated with TBS his entire life, he has 36 years of experience, working from field hand to his current position, President and CEO. Mr. Smith is the lifeblood of the firm’s overarching purpose—to cultivate people by identifying and developing their talents and allowing them to perform meaningful work, ultimately providing stability for their families and improving their communities.
